To those of you, dear readers, who are new to me and my writing, here’s a little introduction.
My time is spent writing (for clients around the world, which is always fascinating), podcasting (with musical guests around the world, who bring their own perspective on creativity) and teaching (English, Media Studies and the Extended Project Qualification, working with UK students who are mainly aged 14-18). I also play saxophone (mainly jazz, mostly baritone, but also alto and tenor) and have had some success, of which more later.
Born and bred in the UK, I studied English and Music in London and moved to become a freelance writer while playing sax in big bands, orchestras and pop bands (including The Style Council, Loose Tubes and the Fairer Sax). In 2005, I trained to be a teacher and now I combine all of the above, as well as podcasting with Harmonious World.
I’ve always enjoyed travelling - which is perhaps why I enjoy having international writing clients and musical podcast guests. Now my writing includes writing about some of the places I’ve visited.
Harmonious World encapsulates it all and the inspiration came from a Quincy Jones quote:
